Yes. HYPOTHEKE.ch is 100% owned by its founders, Florian Schubiger, Lars Schultz, and Damian Gliott, and is not owned by a bank or an insurance company. All founders are actively involved in the company’s operations.
The same conditions apply to all mortgage lenders for placing their offers on the platform. In principle, any mortgage lender in Switzerland can participate.
We also specialize exclusively in the mortgage business and do not sell any other financial products, such as Life insurance. This ensures true independence and sets us apart from our competitors.
Independence is crucial to finding the best Mortgage for customers—because only independent providers can make objective comparisons, choose from all available options, and offer advice without sales pressure.
Those who are not independent often recommend solutions that are best for the provider—not for the customer.
No. We do not offer our own mortgage products; instead, we exclusively compare offers from banks, insurance companies, and Pension funds.
This provides a true overview of the market and ensures that you always get the best available solution. If we had our own products, conflicts of interest would arise.
Upon successful placement, we receive a commission from many mortgage lenders, which is always offset against our platform fee. If the commission is higher than our fee, you receive the difference as cashback—if it is lower, you only pay the difference.
In the vast majority of cases, you therefore don’t have to pay anything for our service and often even receive cashback from us. The comparison overview will show you the cashback amount or any applicable fees directly.
With this approach, which is unique in Switzerland, we ensure that we earn exactly the same amount regardless of which provider you choose for your Mortgage. This is a key component of our independence.
Yes. Security is our top priority. All data is stored in Switzerland, documents are additionally encrypted upon upload, and both development and operations take place entirely in Switzerland.
In addition, HYPOTHEKE.ch bears the “Swiss Made Software” label and works with a certified hosting partner (ISO 27001:2013 and PCI DSS) that is also audited for compliance with FINMA Circulars RS 08/7, RS 08/21, and RS 18/3.
